The Atalanta Hospice Society is a group of dedicated individuals who determined that the lack of hospice care in Nova Southwest was a critical issue which needed to be addressed. They decided to strike a group of passionate individuals who would take the idea of a hospice located in Cornwallis Park to a reality. There is no service of this type in this part of Nova Scotia. Through numerous meetings and discussions, it was decided that the group would forge ahead with the intention of making a local hospice become a reality. This project will take a number of years and will depend upon the generousity of support of our communities to help make this initiative a successful one.

The Atalanta Hospice Society is a registered charity ( registration number: 799430913RR0001 ) that will develop a variety of initiatives to increase the level of awareness of the Fundy Hospice project and to develop and execute fundraising events, all for the purpose to eventually fund the construction of a five bed residential style hospice. Its mission is to provide respectful, dignified and caring support for end-of-life care in which such virtues are extensions of chivalric origins.
